Leslie Waltke, PT, DPT, Cancer Rehabilitation Coordinator

Leslie J. Waltke, PT, DPT is a physical therapist with a clinical mastery in cancer rehabilitation and a provider of world class cancer rehabilitation program development consulting and continuing education. Since earning her degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin in 1988, Dr. Waltke has dedicated most of her career solely to treating the cardiopulmonary, musculoskeletal, integumentary and functional needs of persons during and after treatment for cancer. Over the past decades Dr. Waltke has cared for thousands of people with cancer and has a following of beloved patients. She is respected nationally and internationally as an oncology physical therapist, cancer rehabilitation key opinion leader, author, educator and consultant. Since 2005 Dr. Waltke has been the Cancer Rehabilitation Coordinator for Aurora Health Care, one of the United States’ largest CoC and NAPBC accredited cancer programs and proud holder of the rare Commission on Cancer “Outstanding Achievement Award.” Her role, in addition to treating patients with cancer, includes cancer rehabilitation program development, program integration, education and training, and best practice and clinical standards development.

Erica graduated with her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2002. Erica works full time in hospital-based outpatient rehabilitation at Aurora Sinai Medical Center, part of Aurora Health Care, in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Erica specializes in male, female, and pediatric evaluation and treatment of the pelvic floor and related bladder, bowel, and sexual health issues. Erica is Board Certified in Biofeedback for Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction (BCB-PMD) through the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance and is a Board Certified Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner (PRPC) through Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. Erica is a faculty member at Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute and has authored the 2-day virtual course, Parkinson Disease and Pelvic Rehabilitation, developed for pelvic health clinicians to further their knowledge for best practice for this specialized population.

Erica is certified in LSVT (Lee Silverman) BIG, delivering specialty Parkinson disease rehabilitative care utilizing this intensive, amplitude, neuroplasticity, researched based exercise and functional protocol. Erica is an LSVT Global faculty member instructing the LSVT BIG training and certification course nationally and internationally, online webinars, and presenting yearly at the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) national conference. Erica partners with the Wisconsin Parkinson Association (WPA) as a support group and annual symposium speaker and authors publications in the Wisconsin Parkinson Magazine.
