Black men and those with a family history of prostate cancer have an especially high risk of developing the disease. Unlike other forms of cancer, patients are often forced to pay out-of-pocket costs in order to get screened — even for individuals who have genetic factors or exposure to chemicals that would increase their risk of disease.
