Yasemin Merwede Manager, Field Development ZERO Prostate Cancer Yasemin joins ZERO Prostate Cancer as the Manager of Field Development, where she will leverage her extensive nonprofit, fundraising and development background to make an impact on the organization’s critical mission. Yasemin believes in the transformative power of relationships and collective action, and is dedicated to building communities of people driven to make change and rallying them to achieve the extraordinary. She affirms her passion and dedication to this cause by remembering her beloved grandfather’s courageous battle with prostate cancer.In her previous role at the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) as Manager for Wage Hope My Way, Yasemin was a development leader with a successful track record in creating and managing strategic plans to drive departmental growth and advance innovative ideas. She helped fundraisers implement numerous successful initiatives, empowering them in their efforts to broaden philanthropic support for their endeavors. As the Fundraising and Development Manager at the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), Yasemin drove the overall strategic vision and growth trajectory for multiple campaigns and collaborated with all departments of the organization to maximize each campaign’s impact on NEDA’s mission. She was proud to spearhead and launch the groundbreaking national initiative, NEDA Campus Warriors.Yasemin’s passion for making a difference stems from her mother’s cancer diagnosis when she was 15 years old. She began volunteering and then interning at the American Cancer Society. Watching her mother display undeniable strength in the midst of her battle fueled Yasemin’s commitment to nonprofit service. She is proud to have the opportunity to work alongside the talented and innovative individuals at ZERO and be part of the significant effort to build a future aimed at ZEROing out prostate cancer. Yasemin resides in New Jersey with her husband, young son, and a Burmese cat named Luna. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching true crime documentaries, running her Etsy shop and creating calligraphy art designs.
