Margot Rankins-Burd

Manager, Donor Operations
ZERO Prostate Cancer
Headshot of Margot, Manager of Donor Operations

As ZERO's Manager of Donor Operations, Margot will harness her data management prowess to support those affected by prostate cancer and drive progress towards a future free from this disease.

Prior to joining ZERO, Margot spent four years at Share Our Strength as the Manager of CRM Administration. In this role, she excelled at creating innovative automations to meet the demands of a rapidly growing organization. Her talent for dissecting complex issues, implementing effective solutions, and developing comprehensive documentation showcased her analytical skills and commitment to continuous improvement. Before her time at Share Our Strength, Margot served as the Coordinator of Annual Giving at Colgate University, further honing her skills in the nonprofit sector.

Margot's commitment to ZERO's mission stems from personal experience. Her grandfather's battle with prostate cancer 35 years ago left a lasting impact. After one of her closest friends started the screening process for prostate cancer, Margot is more motivated than ever to contribute to advancements in prostate cancer awareness and treatment.

In her role at ZERO, Margot will spearhead the accurate and timely capture of constituent and gift data in Raiser's Edge, ensuring alignment with industry best practices. Her responsibilities extend to generating critical reports for direct mail appeals, donor segmentation, revenue analysis, and dashboard metrics – all vital components in ZERO's strategic efforts to combat prostate cancer.

She earned her BA in International Studies with a focus on Developing Countries from Lycoming College, complemented by minors in General Economics and French. Furthering her expertise, she obtained an MS in Nonprofit Management from Northeastern University, with a specialization in Leadership and Communication.

Hailing from the small town of West Winfield, NY, Margot infuses her work with a blend of community values and global perspective. Outside the office, she channels her determination into training for and competing in triathlons. An avid reader with a penchant for “romantasy” novels, Margot also finds joy in the rhythms of West Coast Swing dancing. Her dog, Nita, is known to make surprise appearances during video calls.
