Jaisree Purkayastha Assistant, Marketing ZERO Prostate Cancer Jaisree is our Marketing & Communications Assistant. However, this wasn’t the start of her journey at ZERO. She has held many roles including an intern in the Marketing & Communications department, Temporary Events Marketing Assistant, Temporary Development Assistant, and Temporary Marketing & Communications Assistant. She has had a full circle moment settling into her position. Her background empowers her to further ZERO’s mission with the professional bonds and skills she has developed over the years. Wanting a change of pace, she moved to DC for her undergraduate degree. A proud graduate of The George Washington University, she completed her studies in psychology and earned two minors in French and film in 2020. She currently resides in the small suburban town of Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. Helping people has always been a part of Jaisree’s life. She volunteered for five years at a hippotherapy center as a teenager, participated & fundraised for the local Special Olympics club, and currently volunteers at the local food bank. Additionally, she has interned at the Nationalities Service Center (NSC), a nonprofit organization in Philadelphia dedicated to helping refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants acclimate to America through legal, financial, educational, and legal resources. These experiences shaped her and ignited her passion for nonprofit work. Unfortunately, she has seen the toll cancer can take on patients and their families through her friends and family. ZERO provided an avenue to give meaning through her work and simultaneously continue to assist patients and families throughout their journey. After a day of work, you can find Jaisree attending a boxing or Zumba class. When she finds the time, she makes it a priority to travel, try new restaurants, or watch a movie.
