Patient & Caregiver Advisory Board ZERO Prostate Cancer's Patient & Caregiver Advisory Board (PCAB) provides valuable insight and guidance to help shape, enhance, and advise on ZERO's core mission work. PCAB members are also key ambassadors of ZERO's mission, vision, and values, and members reflect experience with the current scope of treatment options. Members will also review and provide input on proposed new program initiatives.Members must participate actively in meetings and discussions, advocate for patient and caregiver needs, and collaborate with fellow PCAB members and ZERO Mission Staff. Time Commitment Board members will serve a two-year term commitment, and members may serve a maximum of two terms total, whether consecutive or not.Virtual meetings are held 4-6 times per year and as needed for specific projects. Additional time for review of materials and preparation for meetings will be required, as will occasional participation in special projects or subcommittees as needed. Qualifications Board members must have direct experience with prostate cancer, possess strong communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively and respectfully with a diverse group of people.Members must also be able to represent and listen to the varied perspectives of the prostate cancer community and be willing to share personal experiences and insights.Board members must be committed to improving support services for the prostate cancer community, have access to and comfort in using technology for virtual meetings, and possess the ability to maintain confidentiality. Restrictions A patient or survivor and their caregiver (e.g., husband and wife, father and son) cannot both serve on the Patient & Caregiver Advisory Board. Benefits Board members will have the opportunity to volunteer their time and expertise, making a meaningful impact on prostate cancer support services. Members will also have the opportunity to network with other patients, caregivers, ZERO staff, and healthcare professionals.Board members will gain an increased understanding of ZERO programs and services and will have opportunities for personal and professional development.
