Patient & Caregiver Advisory Board Jump To Jump To Board Requirements Application and Selection Important Application Dates Apply ZERO Prostate Cancer is seeking dedicated individuals with lived experience as prostate cancer patients, caregivers to join our Patient & Caregiver Advisory Board (PCAB).PCAB members will provide valuable insights and guidance to help shape, enhance, and advise on ZERO’s core mission work. PCAB members will also be key ambassadors of ZERO’s mission, vision, and values.The PCAB shall consist of up to fifteen members. Patients and caregivers should reflect experience with the current scope of treatment options, with priority placed on patients diagnosed in the last five years, currently in treatment, and reflecting the diverse communities that ZERO serves. Board Requirements and Key Responsibilities Expand All Key Responsibilities Board members will share personal experiences and insights related to the prostate cancer journey, provide feedback on existing support programs and educational content, identify gaps in and improvements to current services, and suggest new services. Members will also review and provide input on proposed new program initiatives.Members must participate actively in meetings and discussions, advocate for patient and caregiver needs, and collaborate with fellow PCAB members and ZERO Mission Staff. Time Commitment Board members will serve a two-year term commitment, and members may serve a maximum of two terms total, whether consecutive or not.Virtual meetings are held 4-6 times per year and as needed for specific projects. Additional time for review of materials and preparation for meetings will be required, as will occasional participation in special projects or subcommittees as needed. Qualifications Board members must have direct experience with prostate cancer, possess strong communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively and respectfully with a diverse group of people.Members must also be able to represent and listen to the varied perspectives of the prostate cancer community and be willing to share personal experiences and insights.Board members must be committed to improving support services for the prostate cancer community, have access to and comfort in using technology for virtual meetings, and possess the ability to maintain confidentiality. Restrictions A patient or survivor and their caregiver (e.g., husband and wife, father and son) cannot both serve on the Patient & Caregiver Advisory Board. Benefits Board members will have the opportunity to volunteer their time and expertise, making a meaningful impact on prostate cancer support services. Members will also have the opportunity to network with other patients, caregivers, ZERO staff, and healthcare professionals.Board members will gain an increased understanding of ZERO programs and services and will have opportunities for personal and professional development.
