ZERO's Local Community Grant For decades, ZERO has directly funded education, patient support, early detection, research, and helping providers purchase new technology to increase the quality of care they can provide. The fundraising participants do for the ZERO Run/Walk is one major source of these funds for local communities. ZERO's Local Community Grant invests directly in communities by supporting organizations working to improve prostate cancer awareness, prevention, and screening. Funded in part by proceeds from ZERO’s Run/Walk events, these grants turn community participation into meaningful local action, connecting the support raised through ZERO events with programs that help men and families access the information, resources, and support they need. Grants of up to $10,000 support tax-exempt nonprofits, government agencies, faith-based organizations, veteran organizations, and fraternal organizations nationwide, with a focus on ZERO Run/Walk markets. Funded projects advance awareness and education, screening and early detection, patient navigation, and ongoing patient support, helping close gaps in access and advance health equity for men and families affected by prostate cancer.ZERO’s Community Grant Program has awarded more than $5 million to regional groups and nonprofit partners providing free screenings, culturally responsive education, and navigation support, from urban neighborhoods to rural counties, reaching uninsured, underinsured, and underserved men who need it most. These grants fuel grassroots advocacy, education, and outreach to reduce barriers to prostate cancer screening and care in the Black, Veteran, and rural communities disproportionately affected by prostate cancer. Since inception, ZERO has granted more than $5M to regional groups and nonprofit organizations providing hands-on care, free screenings, and patient support programs. By investing in community-based organizations, ZERO extends the reach of our educational resources to meet prostate cancer patients, their families, and at-risk individuals where they live.
