Community Grants For decades, ZERO has directly funded education, patient support, early detection, research, and helping providers purchase new technology to increase the quality of care they can provide. The fundraising participants do for the ZERO Run/Walk is one major source of these funds for local communities. Since 1996, ZERO has made a significant impact in the fight against prostate cancer both nationally and locally. Partnering with our medical partners, we’ve spearheaded efforts to fund free screenings, hands-on care, research, and education to support and strengthen prostate cancer patients and families in their communities. An integral part of the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk series is the community grant program. This program assists in funding dozens of local nonprofit organizations that are dedicated to helping prostate cancer patients and their families in their local areas. A portion of the funds raised through ZERO’s Run/Walks goes directly back into communities across the country. Examples of the direct impact our community grants are having Screening More than 200 screening events at 21 African American churches and outreach organizations and 10,000+ free PSA screenings for Black men. Since inception, ZERO has granted more than $5M to regional groups and nonprofit organizations providing hands-on care, free screenings, and patient support programs. By investing in community-based organizations, ZERO extends the reach of our educational resources to meet prostate cancer patients, their families, and at-risk individuals where they live. We are proud to partner with organizations nationwide that share our mission to improve and save lives from prostate cancer through advocacy, awareness, education, and support.
