If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, it's important to understand more about the disease and your options. Our Questions for Your Doctor series provides a number of questions for you to discuss with your healthcare team.

Here are some additional tips for communicating with your healthcare team:

  • Find a doctor that you trust and who will work to understand your needs, values, and goals for treatment.
  • A shared decision-making approach will help you feel more included and empowered during this process and as you make treatment decisions.
  • Take a family member or friend to your appointments. That person can take notes, remind you to ask questions, and help you understand the answers.
  • Important information can be recorded in our Newly Diagnosed Worksheet.
