ZERO Prostate Cancer is committed to ensuring that individuals who are passionate about advocating for patients and attending the 2025 ZERO Prostate Cancer Summit in Washington, DC can do so, regardless of financial constraints. We understand that attending the Summit involves personal expenses, and we are dedicated to helping those who require financial assistance find resources to make their participation possible. Please review the following options that may help alleviate cost restraints. Travel Resources:Airline, Credit Card, or Marriott Hotel PointsWe encourage participants to explore the possibility of utilizing airline miles, credit card rewards, or Marriott hotel points to offset travel expenses. This option can significantly reduce the financial burden of attending the Summit. Participants should also consider reaching out to relatives, friends, or employers who may be willing to donate airline miles or hotel points to support their attendance at the Summit.Fundraise Your Way to the SummitWe recommend fundraising as the most effective way to cover the cost of staying at the Hilton Washington DC Capitol Hill. ZERO Prostate Cancer is committed to assisting participants in reaching their fundraising goals for the Summit. Fundraise Your Way goal: $1,200. This covers your hotel stay only. Fundraise Your Way participants are still required to cover their own travel costs for Summit.Hotel covers 3 Nights (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday only).Participants are responsible for booking the hotel room via the provided room block link, including putting a credit card on hold for incidentals that may be charged to the room.Participants are also responsible for canceling the hotel room if necessary; failure to do so will result in the participant being financially responsible for paying the full cost of the hotel room.The hotel room will be paid upon check-out by ZERO.Any funds raised beyond your goal will go towards supporting ZERO's programs.Participants are encouraged to set fundraising targets, with the aim of reaching their goal by January 10, 2025. Applications submitted after November 1 will be considered on a rolling basis.Preference will be given to first-time attendees that live in a target district. Target districts are areas in which a congressional or senatorial representative is a key decision maker that sits on a committee that determines support for our vital legislative priorities. It is imperative that ZERO advocates meet with these representatives to influence support for the cause. Only one attendee per Congressional district is eligible to receive financial aid.If a spouse or companion also wishes to attend, they will need to explore the alternative options for resources or fundraise independently.Summit attendees who receive financial aid are expected to attend all Summit events, including advocating on the Hill on Tuesday.
