California’s new Genetic Privacy Act (AB 1798) protects people from being denied coverage or charged higher premiums based on their genetic test results, ensuring they can pursue testing for conditions like ALS, Alzheimer’s, and cancer without fear of discrimination. ZERO applauds this step toward stronger patient protections, as expanded access to genetic and biomarker testing.
