ZERO Prostate Cancer Urges Congress to Pass Critical FY 2026 Funding to Advance Research and Expand Access to Care

WASHINGTON, D.C. — ZERO Prostate Cancer, the nation's #1 provider of prostate cancer resources, programs, and services to those at risk, diagnosed, and their families, is calling on Congress to pass the final FY 2026 appropriations bills and associated health provisions without delay. For the three million men living with prostate cancer in America, this legislation isn't just policy—it's progress that saves lives. By passing this funding package, Congress has the opportunity to ensure prostate cancer research continues moving forward, and early detection—which offers a 99% survival rate—becomes accessible to more men and families nationwide.

What's in the FY 2026 bill for the prostate cancer community:

  • Sustained funding for the Prostate Cancer Research Program—the cornerstone of our fight for better treatments and outcomes.
  • A $1 million increase for CDC prostate cancer activities to expand outreach where it's needed most.
  • Increased funding for the National Cancer Institute to advance breakthroughs in prostate cancer research.
  • The Nancy Gardner Sewell Medicare Multi-Cancer Early Detection Screening Coverage Act—bringing FDA-approved multi-cancer screenings to Medicare patients at a time when early detection can mean the difference between life and death.
  • Expanded Medicare telehealth services so every Medicare patient can access care regardless of location.
  • Continued funding for Community Health Centers that provide critical access points for patients across the country.

ZERO advocates are contacting members of Congress today with a clear message: support this critical funding. If you feel strongly about advancing prostate cancer research and improving access to care, we encourage you to contact your representatives and make your voice heard.
