Central/Western June 2023

June is Men's Health Month and prostate cancer patients in desperate need are reaching out for financial and emotional support in urgently increasing numbers. ZERO360, the only free, individualized support program of its kind, has experienced a heartbreaking 145% increase in patient support requests over the past year. Donate today to help ensure that the growing group of patients have access to resources, support, and community during their time of urgent need.

New Partnership

The Central/Western Region is proud to announce our new partnership with Veradigm. They are committed to advancing health equity and reaching underserved communities through education and awareness. Through our partnership, we will offer free screening tests at five upcoming 5K Run/Walk events happening in major cities across the country.

Staffing Update

We are thrilled to have welcomed two new staff members to the Central/Western team this Spring!

Event Updates

Upper Midwest
We held the first Wisconsin Run/Walk on May 21 in Kenosha, WI. This event drew in 218 participants and raised $83,750. We celebrated with our survivors and families and even enjoyed the traditional Wisconsin cheese curds and Brats after the event.

Upcoming Event: ZERO Joliet Run/Walk on June 10 hosted by Associated Urological Associates and Advanced Urology Associates this year.

Central Midwest
The 6th Annual Des Moines Tee-Off is coming up this Monday. We expect over 100 golfers and have raised over $30,000 so far. Special thanks to our presenting sponsor, KIA, and ZERO Champions Bill Miller and Diane Ellis for all their help with the planning.

Pacific Northwest
We held the first ever ZERO Reno Run/Walk on May 21. It was a beautiful morning at Idlewild Park, and the community came together to raise $65,000. Thank you to our amazing host partner, Urology Nevada.

Samuel Mullins, a long time champion for ZERO, has helped us all throughout the country due to his work in the Air Force. Most recently, team ‘Go With the Flow' was all hands on deck at the Kenosha Run/Walk. Additionally, Sam and members of the Air Force supplied gifts to our award winners.

Pacific/Northwest New Legislation Our Pacific Northwest Chapter Director, Kourtney Brandt, had the opportunity to testify in Sacramento, California along with ZERO Champion, Ryan Pessah, for the CA AB 632 bill that passed without opposition from the Health Committee. From there it passed the Appropriations Committee Assembly, and it is now headed to the Senate Committee on Health.
