As the Human Resources (HR) leader for ZERO, Pedro Vidal spearheads the development and implementation of strategic HR initiatives that align with the organization's mission while fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment for all team members.

Pedro brings a unique blend of military, healthcare, and community-centered leadership to ZERO. Following five years of service in the U.S. Navy, he cultivated valuable experience at an oncology biotech startup before transitioning to an oncology medical practice. These roles deepened his understanding of the healthcare systems and their profound impact on patient outcomes, shaping his approach to public health.

His distinctive approach to human resources is informed by his background in social work and community organizing—recognizing that organizations thrive when they prioritize team success and well-being. Most recently, Pedro served seven years as the head of HR for the globally recognized Burning Man Project, where he managed complex workforce challenges in a dynamic, values-driven organization. His decision to return to public health reflects his enduring commitment to improving health outcomes.

Pedro's dedication to health equity extends beyond his professional role, having served on multiple nonprofit boards and public health coalitions focused on addressing healthcare disparities. This extensive community engagement experience enhances his ability to build meaningful partnerships and implement effective people-centered strategies.

A graduate of the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor's degree and Norwich University with a Master's in Public Administration, Pedro brings professional excellence to complement his practical expertise. Born in Peru and raised in Miami Beach, Florida, he maintains a global perspective that informs his work. When not advancing ZERO's mission, Pedro pursues his passion for international travel and cultural exploration.
