Michael's journey is driven by his desire to support others facing similar challenges, and he hopes to make a meaningful impact through the ZERO Peaks Challenge. Rick Pittser Rick Pittser 56, Survivor From Arlington, TX, Rick is motivated by his father's battle with cancer and his own lifelong passion for challenges. Having long dreamed of climbing Mt. Emily Faurote Emily Faurote 40, Supporter, OTD, OT-R Based in Indianapolis, IN, Emily is inspired by her father's battle with advanced prostate cancer. As a pediatric occupational therapist, she aims to empower men and their families to be health advocates. Emily's participation in the ZERO Peaks Challenge is a tribute to her father and a step toward raising awareness about the importance of regular screenings. Greg Hurley Greg Hurley 69, Patient Located in Sugar Land, TX, Greg is currently on active surveillance for prostate cancer. Drawn to the Kilimanjaro challenge, Greg sees it as an opportunity to raise funds for ZERO and set a physical goal for the year. With interests in travel, photography, and fitness, he hopes to make a positive impact in the fight against prostate cancer. After a career in the Air Force and the medical device industry, Eric now advocates full-time for prostate cancer issues. Jared Wallen Jared Wallen 41, Supporter, MD Based in Sarasota, FL, Jared is a urologic surgeon and functional medicine physician who has witnessed the impact of prostate cancer firsthand. Passionate about hiking, nature, and photography, Jared believes in a future where no man has to die from prostate cancer. His participation in the ZERO Peaks Challenge reflects his dedication to advancing prostate cancer awareness and prevention. Lang Shaw Lang Shaw 53, Patient Residing in New Windsor, NY, in the Hudson Valley, Lang is an architect specializing in historic building restoration and commercial offices in New York City. As the son of a prostate cancer survivor and a patient himself, Lang is participating in the ZERO Peaks Challenge to advocate for a cure and support those affected by prostate cancer. He lives with his wife and two children and enjoys woodworking, cooking, and golfing. Kevin Martin Kevin Martin 61, Patient Based in Boston, MA, Kevin is living with Stage 4B prostate cancer and is dedicated to spreading awareness while thriving. Diagnosed in January 2024, he remains active, running marathons in Boston, London, and Chicago. Married to Lisa for nearly 35 years, Kevin is an avid triathlete and author of a bestselling book about lessons from his late father. He is passionate about travel and continues to inspire others with his resilience. Todd Curry Todd Curry 63, Survivor From Charlotte, NC, Todd is committed to raising awareness about prostate cancer and the importance of early screening. With several loved ones affected by the disease, he supports ZERO Prostate Cancer's mission and programs. Todd enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, and biking, and is learning to play pickleball. His participation in the ZERO Peaks Challenge honors his family and friends who have battled prostate cancer. Angelika Leskovskaya Angelika Leskovskaya 53, Supporter Based in Lantana, TX, Angelika is a passionate advocate for youth education and health awareness. Angelika believes young men aren't given enough information about prostate health early on and is committed to changing that. Through her support of ZERO Prostate Cancer, she aims to spark proactive conversations and empower her sons and the next generation to take charge of their health. Derick Davis Derick Davis 48, Survivor Located in Roswell, GA, Derick is a three-time cancer survivor whose journey began with lymphoma at age 24. Diagnosed with prostate cancer at age 44 in 2021, Derick has turned adversity into advocacy. With the backing of his wife, family, and friends, Derick participates in the ZERO Prostate Cancer Peaks Challenge to raise awareness and support for others. He hopes to ensure that no man faces this disease alone. Joe Correy Joe Correy 58, Survivor Located in Vancouver, WA, Joe was diagnosed with prostate cancer during a routine physical at age 50. Following a radical prostatectomy that April, Joe adopted the mindset encouraged by his employer: “You had cancer for a couple of months, now go live your life and don’t look back.” Today, he’s doing just that—sharing his experience to inspire others to prioritize screenings and move forward with strength. Leo Nunes Leo Nunes 52, Survivor Located in Colorado Springs, CO, Leo turned his battle into a broader mission: advancing affordability and access to prostate cancer care. As a healthcare leader and ZERO advocate, Leo has taken his voice to Capitol Hill, and he believes this climbing Kilimanjaro will serve as a reminder to men all over the world that a prostate cancer diagnosis is not a death sentence.
