Questions For Your Doctor: Communicating with Your Healthcare Team

Questions For Your Doctor: Communicating with Your Healthcare Team

Prostate cancer treatment is unique and individual. It can be confusing to determine whether your course of treatment is appropriate for you. Approaching your doctor can be daunting without knowing what to ask. ZERO provides "Questions for Your Doctor" guides to help patients figure out their next steps. Our list of sample questions to ask your healthcare team can make one part of your journey a little easier. We recently created resources for patients considering chemotherapy treatment and clinical trials. If you haven't already, read our "Newly Diagnosed" and "Advanced Prostate Cancer" one-pagers. Here are some tips to help you start the conversation:

  • A shared decision-making approach will help you feel more included and empowered during this process and as you make treatment decisions.
  • Take a family member or friend to your appointments. That person can take notes, remind you to ask questions, and help you understand the answers.
