Men's Health Month: Taking Action Against Prostate Cancer

Men's Health Month: Taking Action Against Prostate Cancer

June marks Men's Health Month, a time when we come together to shine a light on health issues that affect men and encourage them to take proactive steps toward better health. For our prostate cancer community, this month holds special significance as we remind men about the importance of regular screenings and health conversations. Prostate cancer touches the lives of so many American men, but there's hope—early detection significantly improves outcomes. This June, we are reaching out with renewed energy to help men understand their risk factors and empower them on their health journey. We're hosting educational webinars, organizing community screening events, and facilitating support groups where men can find the resources and encouragement they need. During Men's Health Month, we invite all men, particularly those over 45, with a family history of cancer, or Black/African American men, to start meaningful conversations with their healthcare providers about screening options.

Celebrating Pride Month

Celebrating Pride Month

This Pride Month, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting all individuals affected by prostate cancer, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community who face unique challenges in their cancer journey. We recognize that gay and bisexual men, transgender women, and other gender-diverse individuals with prostate cancer often navigate additional complexities, from finding affirming healthcare providers to addressing specific concerns about treatment side effects on sexual health and intimacy. Our dedicated resources acknowledge these distinct experiences and provide tailored support. Through specialized virtual support groups, educational materials, and partnerships with LGBTQIA+ health organizations, we work to ensure that everyone receives compassionate, inclusive care. This Pride Month, we celebrate the strength and resilience of LGBTQIA+ individuals in our community while recommitting to creating spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported.

Empowering Our Community Through Virtual Learning

Empowering Our Community Through Virtual Learning

Our Virtual Education & Support Summit has once again brought together the brightest minds in prostate cancer care for an incredible three-day learning experience. We were thrilled to welcome experts, healthcare professionals, and passionate advocates who shared the latest breakthroughs in research, treatment options, and quality of life strategies. Participants gained valuable insights on everything from cutting-edge therapies to practical advice for managing side effects—all designed to support everyone on their unique prostate cancer journey.

We're especially grateful to our amazing speakers who brought such depth and warmth to complex topics. Allan Houston—two-time NBA All-Star, Olympic Gold Medalist, former player for the New York Knicks, and proud prostate cancer survivor—joined us as a featured speaker. Along with Allan, Dwight Eubanks is an entrepreneur & TV personality. With over 30 years of trailblazing experience, Dwight has captivated the entertainment world with his unmatched creativity and style.

Dr. Elisabeth Heath, Dr. Alicia Morgans, and Dr. Charles Ryan offered hopeful perspectives on treatment advances, while Dr. Leanne Woods-Burnham and Dr. Dustin Nowaskie addressed the vital needs of diverse communities. Their expertise and compassion made this summit truly special for patients at every stage. As a grand finale, Ernie Johnson Jr., Emmy Award-winning sportscaster, author, and television host from TNT's Inside the NBA, helped close the 2025 Virtual Education & Support Summit with a powerful Fireside Chat.
