ZERO’s President & CEO, Courtney Bugler, led the ceremony, joined by executives from Blitz The Barriers Lead Founding Partner, Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. The event highlighted the launch of Blitz The Barriers—the most ambitious prostate cancer initiative in U.S. history, which aims to save 100,000 lives by 2035. As the nation's leading provider of prostate cancer resources, ZERO brought national attention to a disease that affects over 3 million American men and continues to claim a life every 15 minutes. Blitz The Barriers will deliver life-saving education, community and patient intervention, resources, and care to those hardest hit by prostate cancer. Join The Movement Meet Pat Forsburg, Team Captain of One of ZERO's Most Powerful Run/Walk Teams Pat Forsburg, a two-time prostate cancer survivor, has been a standout Run/Walk Team Captain since 2012. As one of ZERO's top Run/Walk fundraising teams, Team Forsburg has contributed more than $180,000 to the fight against prostate cancer, with impressive annual totals regularly exceeding $20,000. What makes Team Forsburg so successful at ZERO's signature Run/Walk events? Pat's ability to inspire others to join the cause. During COVID, what began as a team of 40 grew to over 400 participants as Pat rallied his entire network. This remarkable momentum has continued, with Team Forsburg maintaining its impressive size for five consecutive years at Run/Walk events across the country. "The Run/Walk events give us a chance to come together as a community," Pat explains. "It's not just about raising money—it's about showing up, being visible, and supporting each other through this journey." Behind Pat's dedication to ZERO's Run/Walk events are his granddaughters, Eliza and Finleigh. "They're why I participate every year," Pat shares. "Each Run/Walk event I captain means more precious moments with them." Pat's story exemplifies how becoming a Team Captain can transform personal challenges into powerful community action.
