Newsletter: September 2025 September 6, 2025 Jump To Jump To Subscribe Prostate Cancer Awareness Month (PCAM) - Shining a Light on Early Detection September marks Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, an annual effort to recognize the risks of prostate cancer in men and help support the community. With prostate cancer remaining the most common cancer among American men and the second leading cause of cancer deaths, our outreach efforts are more vital than ever. This September, we're focusing on reaching men who need to understand their risk factors—particularly those with family history and Black men, who face twice the mortality rate of white men. Early detection remains our most powerful tool. A simple PSA test can identify concerns before symptoms appear, when treatment is most effective. That's why we're encouraging everyone to take our "Am I at Risk?" quiz and share it with the men in their lives. Remember, prostate cancer often shows no early symptoms, making regular screening for at-risk men essential for the remarkable 99% five-year survival rate we see with early detection. Learn More About PCAM September Run/Walks: Taking Steps Toward a World Without Prostate Cancer This September, take steps that truly make a difference. Our Run/Walk series is uniting communities nationwide as thousands come together during Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. These family-friendly events welcome everyone: passionate runners, casual walkers, and supporters who share one powerful mission: to improve and save lives. Every stride tells a story. Many participants walk or run in honor of loved ones affected by prostate cancer, turning each event into a moving display of solidarity, hope, and determination. Together, we're not only raising critical funds for free patient and family programs, advocacy, and life-saving initiatives; we're also shining a light on the importance of early detection and awareness. Be part of something bigger than an event. Share your story, honor those you love, and join a community that carries the fight forward long after event day. Join us this fall! Register For A Run/Walk Scaling New Heights: September's Kilimanjaro Trek Raises Awareness This September, more than 20 dedicated individuals will embark on the journey of a lifetime as part of our inaugural ZERO Peaks Challenge. From September 20-30, these passionate advocates will tackle Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, raising both awareness and critical funds for prostate cancer. The trek represents more than just a physical challenge—it symbolizes the uphill battle faced by those affected by prostate cancer. Each participant has committed to raising $12,500 to support our mission of improving and saving lives. We have a full crew for this trip, so we're already planning for 2026. Those interested in joining next year's adventure can sign up now for priority information and apply for future trips. You can follow the journey through our dedicated tracking page for our CEO, Courtney Bugler. The group has been training for months, preparing both physically and mentally for the demanding 10-day trek to the summit at 19,341 feet. For those who can't make the journey, bring the hike home! Our "Hike Your Own Peak" program allows anyone to create a personalized fundraising page tied to a local hike or personal challenge, bringing the spirit of the Peaks Challenge to your community this September.
