We found out my dad had prostate cancer on the week of Thanksgiving in 2012. He was 54 years old, and we were shocked. He had a prostatectomy the day after Christmas. They found that the cancer had already spread, and when he healed from the surgery they did radiation. This was followed by hormone therapy and chemotherapy, none of which were effective for long. He made it to March 23, 2018, when the cancer that had spread to his brain took his life at 59 years old. My family is grateful for the time we had, as he got to meet 5 additional grandchildren during his battle. He was a truly amazing husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He was a man who impacted lives for the best. He was a man of lifelong faith that never wavered, who loved the Lord, his family, and music. I will fight and pray for better treatment and I will push for every man to get check-ups, because time truly is precious. #DoItForDad
