“What a true honor it is to work shoulder to shoulder with our Bold for Blue winners,” said ZERO CEO Jamie Bearse. “These champions are setting the bar for communities across the U.S. in their efforts to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer.”

The Bold for Blue Awards will be streamed LIVE on ZERO’s Facebook page. Teams from ZERO’s national Run/Walk series, do-it-yourself event organizers, and Team ZERO endurance athletes will all be honored. ZERO will also pay special tribute to three men who are prostate cancer pioneers and have gone above and beyond for the cause. William A. Schwartz - ZERO founder and former CEO who spearheaded ZERO’s creation, Sanford J. Siegel, MD - founder of the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk series and recognized leader in urology, and Wesley S. Williams, Jr. - the first African-American Chairman of ZERO’s Board of Directors, will all receive Legacy Awards for their passionate commitment and dedication over many decades.

The awards show, which features a blue carpet, a spirit tunnel, and an emotional candlelight vigil also includes a performance by ZERO spokesperson and Nashville country music artist Jimmy Charles and his band. The ceremony is sponsored by Abbvie.

The Bold for Blue Awards ceremony launches the 2019 ZERO Prostate Cancer Summit. This three-day event brings together hundreds of prostate cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, and loved ones from across the country. Advocates will hear from some of the best and brightest researchers and physicians to learn more about the latest prostate cancer research developments and treatment options. On Tuesday, February 26, our advocates will ascend Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. to share their stories with elected officials to fight for increased prostate cancer research funding. In addition, they will be asking for more access to screening for high-risk men and funding for prostate cancer education and awareness in high-risk populations.

The Bold for Blue Awards ceremony begins Sunday, February 24 at 7:15 p.m. EST. For more information about the awards or the 2019 ZERO Prostate Cancer Summit, visit our Facebook page.
