Washington, D.C. — ZERO Prostate Cancer, the nation’s leading nonprofit in the fight against prostate cancer, announced it’s now accepting cryptocurrency donations via Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Filecoin, and Litecoin.

Cryptocurrency is a trillion-dollar industry and ZERO is already seeing an interest in crypto gifts from donors around the country. Much like traditional donations, crypto gifts go towards supporting prostate cancer patients and their families.

“We’re excited to expand our giving options to now include cryptocurrency, which allows individuals, partners, and donors yet another way to make a meaningful difference in the lives of men diagnosed with prostate cancer,” said Jamie Bearse, ZERO’s CEO and President.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020, ZERO has seen a steady increase in needs from the prostate cancer community. Crypto donations will help fund direct support programs that address the growing financial, emotional, and physical needs of patients and their families when they are the most vulnerable.

Transferring coins is quick, easy, and one of the most tax-efficient ways of giving to ZERO. The IRS views giving crypto to a 501(c)(3) as a property donation, so you can both claim the gift as a tax deduction, and avoid capital gains taxes on your coins.

There are lots of different types of cryptocurrencies being traded on the market today. ZERO accepts nearly all of them. For a full list and to learn more about how you can give a crypto donation, visit zerocancer.org/crypto.
