ZERO and Tri-California Events Partner to Help End Prostate Cancer

ZERO Named Featured Charity Partner for Wildflower Triathlon and San Francisco Triathlon at Alcatraz

Washington, D.C. – ZERO – The End of Prostate Cancer and Tri-California Events, Inc. have joined forces to help end prostate cancer. ZERO will be a featured charity partner at the renowned Wildflower Triathlon this April and for the return of the iconic San Francisco Triathlon at Alcatraz this August, where ZERO’s endurance athletes will compete and raise funds to help the 1 in 7 men affected by prostate cancer.

“Every 19 minutes an American man dies of prostate cancer. That is an estimated 3,100 fathers, brothers, and husbands from right here in California,” said Julie Carr, ZERO’s National Fundraising Manager. “By partnering with Tri-California Events, a family-run company focused on athlete experience and growing the sport of triathlon, we can offer our athlete fundraisers VIP treatment as they compete to help end prostate cancer at two of the top bucket-list races in the country.”

Participants who join Team ZERO at either Wildflower Triathlon or San Francisco Triathlon at Alcatraz will receive fundraising support, custom team gear, and VIP packages to include premier bike racking, catered meals, priority packet pick-up, meet the elites program and post-event hospitality.

The ZERO Prostate Cancer Endurance program has raised more than $1.1 million since it began with one team in the Marine Corps Marathon in 2008. In 2016, over 300 athletes will join Team ZERO in the country’s most prestigious triathlons and marathons and raise more than $500,000.

“Cancer is affecting so many these days; everyone has been touched in some way by this disease.   Our events allow us a vessel to reach people and raise money for the good of many while promoting a healthy lifestyle, the importance of family exercise and so much more – makes us love being part of such an amazing sport” said Colleen Bousman, President of Tri-California Events Inc.
