Statement from ZERO President and CEO Jamie Bearse on Addressing Racial Injustice

"ZERO has championed all men and families to save and improve lives by fighting for new treatments, access to care, and early detection. Despite these efforts, Black men are twice as likely to die from prostate cancer than white men. Not surprisingly, the same disproportionate ratio is true with COVID-19. In this moment, we must unite not only for our mission to end prostate cancer and the pain and suffering that comes from it, but we must also fully recognize that we cannot overcome these health disparities without achieving equality. This includes ending the lack of access to care for Black men and their families and stopping the pain and suffering caused by systemic racism. Our community is full of compassion, empathy, and love. Only together — regardless of our color, creed, or political beliefs — can we be #ZEROstrong." - Jamie Bearse, President
