A nonprofit leader and patient advocate for nearly 20 years, Bearse is ZERO’s President & CEO. Since taking on the role in 2013, he has led ZERO in doubling the size of the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk, initiating its chapter structure, and launching its ZERO360 patient navigation program.
With Bearse at the helm, ZERO also successfully championed an annual increase in prostate cancer research funding from $80M to $110M at the Congressionally Medical Research Programs at the DOD and raised more than $100M for patient programs and support as well as awareness initiatives. A thought-leader in health advocacy, nonprofit management, and in people-first organizational culture, Bearse has transformed ZERO into a four-out-of-four-star rated organization by Charity Navigator and one of the 50 best nonprofits to work for by the NonProfit Times in each of the last seven years.
Bearse has also served as a political communications strategist and a writer. He has an MPA from Price School of Public Policy at the University of Southern California and a certificate in non-profit management from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
