Study identifies prostate cancer subgroup likely to benefit from adjuvant radiotherapy

A recent study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology identified a subgroup of men with prostate cancer and adverse pathology who may benefit from adjuvant radiation therapy.1

Specifically, adjuvant radiation therapy was associated with a significant reduction in all-cause mortality (ACM) in patients with positive pelvic lymph nodes or a prostatectomy Gleason score of 8 to 10 with disease extending beyond the prostate.
