Announcing ZERO's New CEO

We are excited to welcome Courtney Bugler, CFRE as our new President & CEO, effective August 7, 2023. As the daughter of a prostate cancer survivor—and as a breast cancer survivor herself—Courtney's journey fuels her deep passion for our mission. Her dedication to raising awareness, securing funding, and providing vital resources stems from a genuine understanding of the urgency to combat this disease.

Courtney's personal connection to prostate cancer combined with her experience as a nonprofit leader makes her an incredible asset to ZERO. Join us as we embark on the exciting chapter with Courtney taking the lead. Together, we'll continue making a lasting impact on the fight against prostate cancer.

The Prostate Cancer Community Sees Progress with New FDA Approvals

On May 31, 2023, AstraZeneca's LYNPARZA ®, a PARP inhibitor, was approved with abiraterone and prednisone for metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) patients who also have a BRCA gene mutation.

On June 2, 2023, Blue Earth Diagnostics' POSLUMA ® was approved as an injection for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-positive lesions for patients with suspected prostate cancer recurrence or metastasis.

On June 20, 2023, Pfizer's TALZENNA®, in combination with XTANDI®, was approved for patients with mCRPC and a mutated homologous recombination repair (HRR) gene. TALZENNA® is a PARP inhibitor and the first of its kind for use in mCRPC patients.

These advances represent new classes of radiopharmaceuticals as well as promising targeted treatment options for patients with metastatic prostate cancer. Not only will these help providers treat prostate cancer, but they will also help find prostate cancer earlier so treatment can be more effective. None of these advances would be possible without the incredible research teams and patients who volunteer to participate in clinical trials. An Easy Way to Plan for Your Future

Next month is National Make-A-Will Month, and our partnership with FreeWill offers ZERO community members the opportunity to approach the future with peace of mind. Creating a will or trust gives you the chance to communicate your wishes, provide for your loved ones, and protect what matters to you at no cost.
