Steph Johnson

Steph Johnson joins ZERO as Vice President of Communications, bringing over two decades of expertise in media, integrated marketing, public relations, and crisis communications. An Emmy award-winning journalist, she has consistently demonstrated excellence in crafting compelling narratives and communication campaigns that advance organizational missions and enhance brand visibility.

Most recently, as Senior Vice President of Enterprise Communications at the American Cancer Society (ACS), Steph played a pivotal role in reimagining strategic blueprints for internal and external communications, while establishing protocols for executive thought leadership and crisis management. Her experience at Hotwire Global as VP and Communications Strategist further honed her skills in developing executive thought leadership platforms for leading global tech brands.

Her impressive career includes nearly a decade as VP of Communications & Product Strategies at the American Medical Association (AMA) and VP of Public Affairs at Advocate Aurora Health. Steph's journalism background includes work with major networks such as ABC News, Good Morning America, and World News Tonight with Peter Jennings. She also served as a freelance producer for the Chicago Bureaus of ABC and NBC News and as a TV news anchor for 16 WAPT News, an ABC News affiliate in Mississippi.

A Summa Cum Laude graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Speech and Dramatic Arts, Steph brings her strategic communication expertise to advance ZERO's mission. She currently resides with her family in Kentucky, home of the Kentucky Derby.
