Heather Anderson

Manager, Field Development
ZERO Prostate Cancer
Headshot of Heather Anderson

Heather Anderson joins ZERO as the Manager of Field Development, bringing nine years of extensive nonprofit management and community development experience to the organization. Throughout her career, Heather has demonstrated a proven track record in fundraising, volunteer engagement, and event management, skills that are crucial in the fight against prostate cancer. In her role at ZERO, she will take charge of her own territory to manage the walk program, leveraging her extensive experience to drive fundraising efforts and expand ZERO's impact in communities nationwide.

Most recently, Heather spent over two years at the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, where she served as the Manager of Fundraising and Volunteer Engagement. During her tenure, she successfully managed the Maryland and Virginia walks for three seasons, honing her expertise in event coordination and community outreach. Prior to this role, Heather contributed her talents to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, further broadening her experience in the health-focused nonprofit sector.

Heather's passion for ending prostate cancer stems from her personal connection to the cause, having lost her father to cancer in 2021. She is committed to raising awareness and funding for prostate cancer research, as she believes more needs to be done to address the significant impact of this disease.

Originally from Farmville, Virginia, Heather continues to call this charming town home. When not working towards a world without prostate cancer, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, as well as their five pets - two cats and three dogs. Heather has a self-proclaimed "unhealthy obsession" with all things fuzzy and soft, as well as candles. She also loves to travel, always seeking new adventures and experiences.

As the Manager of Field Development at ZERO, Heather will play a crucial role in the organization's field fundraising efforts and activities, leveraging her extensive experience and passion for the cause to drive growth and make a meaningful impact in the fight against prostate cancer.
