Angela Tate joins ZERO as the Vice President, Community Outreach and Engagement, bringing extensive experience in strategic leadership, community engagement, and program development. Throughout her career, Angela has demonstrated a proven track record of driving impactful initiatives that enhance health outcomes and reduce disparities in underserved and unserved communities.This passion and purpose is what drew her to ZERO!

Most recently, Angela served as Vice President of Health Equity and Community Impact at the American Diabetes Association (ADA), National where she led large-scale initiatives focused on addressing healthcare inequities and fostering community partnerships. Prior to her time at ADA,  Angela has held key leadership roles at organizations such as the American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Association, Planned Parenthood, and MD Anderson Cancer Center. She has also contributed to policy and advocacy as a Congressional District Director under the leadership of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. Her expertise spans healthcare administration, public health, community engagement, and strategic partnerships. Her experience includes developing and executing engagement strategies, managing high-performing teams, and leading efforts to support communities with the highest disparities in screening, treatment, and health outcomes. Her ability to align local initiatives with national frameworks has contributed to the success of multiple mission-driven organizations.

Angela’s passion for health equity stems from her deep commitment to addressing systemic barriers that impact marginalized communities. She is dedicated to creating sustainable solutions that improve health outcomes, particularly for those affected by prostate cancer and other chronic conditions.

Angela holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from Texas Woman’s University and a Master of Social Work (MSW) with dual concentrations in Administration & Development and Clinical Practice from Andrews University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work with a minor in Psychology from Manchester College.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and a women’s support group she created, “Circle of Sisters”; volunteering with Junior League of Phoenix and National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Phoenix and distance cycling. A little fun proud fact that Angela loves to share is that she is a great, great, auntie!!!

In her role at ZERO, Angela spearheads strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing community outreach, fostering key partnerships, and leading innovative programs that drive meaningful change. Leveraging her extensive experience and dedication to health equity, she plays a pivotal role in advancing ZERO’s mission and improving the lives of individuals affected by prostate cancer.
