There are lots of nonprofits and organizations asking for your support right now. At ZERO, we tell our donors exactly what your donations support and why your gifts are so urgently needed.
FUND NEW TREATMENTS
As a donor, you have the power to help fund new research for more treatments and diagnostics to save lives. The federal government annually invests millions of dollars for prostate cancer research through the Prostate Cancer Research Program (PCRP) and National Institutes of Health (NIH). While it’s important to protect this funding, ZERO also seeks to increase the amount allocated toward prostate cancer research. Donations help fund research towards breakthrough treatments – and that’s important!
PROVIDE DIRECT SUPPORT
Patients need help and support more than ever, due to the lasting effects of COVID-19. From transportation to financial assistance, your gift helps patients overcome barriers to care. ZERO360 offers free comprehensive financial and emotional support. Our MENtor and Caregiver Connector programs offer peer-to-peer emotional support. And Us TOO support groups are bringing patients, survivors, caretakers and the entire prostate cancer community together. Your generosity makes sure no one faces prostate cancer alone.
SAVE LIVES WITH EARLY DETECTION
You can help more men get tested and have a much better chance of survival. All men are at risk of prostate cancer so ZERO works hard to make sure everyone is educated about this disease. Your donations support educational outreach like toolkits, webinars, videos and much more. Detecting prostate cancer early gives men the best chance of living longer. In fact, when it’s caught early, the 5-year survival rate is over 99 percent.
REACH AT-RISK MEN
Help the men who need it most. It’s vital that African Americans, Veterans, and those with a family history understand their risk and take action. Did you know that African-American men are 1.8 times more likely to get the disease and 2.2 times more likely to die from the disease than white men? And new statistics show that the incidence rate for military personnel is 1 in 5. These are unacceptable numbers. With your support, ZERO is tackling these issues head-on.
GIVE A SUPPORT GROUP
Connect patients and caregivers in need with a support group that provides ongoing peer support and education. In 2021, ZERO merged with Us TOO International, bringing more than 200 volunteer-led Support Groups across the country that equip prostate cancer patients and families with much needed emotional support. By giving to ZERO, you’re helping these support groups provide people impacted by prostate cancer with an opportunity to be with others who have a common purpose.
When you donate, you’re making a huge impact. Support, education, treatments – these are the life-changing gifts in the fight to end prostate cancer.
You can donate any time of year at zerocancer.org/donate.
