ZERO Prostate Cancer
Robert Ginyard

Robert Ginyard’s major battle used to be raising capital and launching his own business. He never imagined that he would be battling prostate cancer. Diagnosed at 48, he decided to take on a new role in speaking out to promote prostate cancer awareness and overall good health. He believes that he owes it to other men and their families to share his experiences, including tackling major issues such as sex, love, and life after prostate cancer head-on.

Robert worked as a banker and Director of Marketing for a national trade association before launching his own tote bag business. He is a frequent guest on radio programs sharing his expertise on entrepreneurship, marketing, and his prostate cancer journey. He lives in Baltimore with his wife and two daughters, serves on the ZERO Board of Directors, and is the emcee of ZERO’s annual Advocacy Summit, where he engages attendees to share their stories year after year.

He is also the creator of DiBi DiBi (Dream it. Believe it. Do it. Be it.), a new awareness campaign that encourages people to live out their dreams.

As a prostate cancer survivor and African-American man, I’m honored to be part of an organization that is making great strides to end prostate cancer. The first step toward ending this disease, which takes the lives of nearly 30,000 men each year, is to raise awareness with family, friends, and in our community. This is especially important in the African-American community, where prostate cancer strikes at alarmingly high rates.
