Position Summary

ZERO is seeking a motivated self-starter who has an entrepreneurial spirit, thrives on being adaptable and collaborative, and has a natural can-do attitude to help manage their assigned  Chapter territory. The Manager, Chapter Development role is focused on driving revenue to support the mission at ZERO by raising funds, recruiting and developing volunteer leaders, amplifying ZERO’s patient support programs, and drawing supporters to the cause to advance the organization’s mission. Successful candidates will be dynamic and engaging spokespersons for the cause and will be effective at communicating the urgency of our mission and excelling at networking and fundraising.

This role will report to the Regional Director, Eastern Chapters. The Manager, Chapter Development will use their community experience to build upon existing events and relationships within the territory. The Development Manager will foster these relationships to develop a revenue generating pipeline of peer-to-peer fundraising and implement strategies that cultivate and recruit new corporate and medical sponsors for the Run/Walk events in their respective territory. 
 

This position is based remotely, and candidates must live within their assigned Chapter. This position will require travel approximately 30% of the time (3-4 trips per quarter)

Role Responsibilities

Chapter Revenue Growth:

  • Drive high-impact peer-to-peer fundraising to achieve overall revenue goals while working within budgeted expense parameters.
  • Implement planning timelines, Chapter operational plans, and participant recruitment strategies. 
  • Monitor campaign key performance indicators through the utilization of data and adjust fundraising strategies as necessary.
  • Manage, cultivate, and grow a portfolio of donors, champions, corporations, advocates, major fundraisers, team captains, and medical partners in assigned Chapter year-round.
  • Grow any local campaigns that are assigned to you within your Chapter.
  • Create and steward a volunteer pipeline for local Chapter leadership and event revenue driving committee members.
  • Implement the strategies put in place to attract new corporate partnerships. 
  • Cultivate relationships with key ZERO partners in the medical community, including prostate cancer case managers/navigators to ensure a growing pipeline of patient referrals.
  • Serve as a vital prostate cancer resource for urology practices in your region and represent ZERO at all Chapter ZERO Run/Walk events (Run/Walks, corporate speaking engagements, fundraising campaigns, and Run/Walk kickoffs).

Run/Walk and any other assigned events:

  • Responsible for the planning, execution, and revenue for all revenue generating events in the assigned Chapter.
  • Responsible for sponsorship acquisition revenue through key ZERO Run/Walk events in the assigned Chapter. Tasks include retaining and elevating past sponsors, as well as prospecting new leads.
  • Lead and manage peer-to-peer fundraising revenue through key ZERO Run/Walk events in the assigned Chapter. Tasks include working with past team captains and recruiting new teams and individual fundraisers. 
  • Partner with a committee to cultivate ZERO Run/Walk, identify additional event revenue streams and other event related responsibilities as necessary.
  • Drive new corporate partnerships and pipeline growth through a variety of mechanisms, including prospecting and leveraging key relationships within the community. 
  • Cultivate relationships to help achieve income goals
  • All other duties assigned by your supervisor.

Volunteer Engagement 

  • Build a compelling vision for growth and collaborate with volunteer leaders and staff to achieve it. 
  • Work with leadership volunteers to identify, recruit, and engage volunteers who have the potential to make an impact. 
  • Build strong and effective partnerships with volunteers and supporters and help foster a culture of accountability. 
  • Partner with and support volunteer committees to drive success in campaigns and grow support for our mission. 
  • Serve as a key leader in your territory, building meaningful relationships, raising awareness, and sharing mission impact with constituents. 
  • Other duties as required.

  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and work collaboratively with a team while sometimes having limited guidance and direction.
  • Ability to implement a plan to hit financial goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional work experience in empowering individuals to fundraise or volunteer.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. 
  • Ability to use multiple cloud-based systems (Google Workspace, Raiser's Edge, Luminate Online, Slack, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, marketing/communications preferred, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. 
  • 3+ years of professional nonprofit experience. 
  • Training in peer-to-peer fundraising.

Physical Requirements

  • Constant use of a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as a computer, printer, calculator, and copier. 
  • Prolonged periods of a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
  • The ability to recognize details at close range for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
