Position summary

ZERO is seeking a dynamic Director, Corporate Partnerships to join their award-winning team. The ideal candidate will be able to survey the current status at ZERO and be the architect of an organization-wide strategy that builds a bigger continuum of care and impact across communities at risk, prostate cancer patients, survivors, and their families.

The Director, Corporate Partnerships plays a critical role in establishing and maintaining partnerships with companies to advance ZERO’s mission.  Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Director will be responsible for managing a high-performing team, overseeing a revenue line that is expected to grow to $7 million within three years.
 


 

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive partnership strategy to significantly expand corporate support and sponsorships.
  • Identify, develop and steward meaningful partnerships with companies across various industries to drive revenue and advance ZERO’s mission.
  • Manage a team focused on corporate partnership development, activation and stewardship. 
  • Work toward securing upwards of $7 million in annual partnership revenue by 2027.
  • Draft partnership proposals and manage contract negotiations to capture the full value of partnerships. 
  • Ensure all partnership deliverables and benefits are executed per agreements. 
  • Track partnership ROI and report on progress to key stakeholders.
  • Maintain, nurture and expand existing corporate partnerships.
  • Represent the ZERO brand with expertise, passion and professionalism.

Desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Thorough understanding of the corporate/nonprofit pharmaceutical landscape.
  • Demonstrated success in building partnerships with a thorough understanding of creating and moving leads through a pipeline while fully owning each part of the sales process.
  • Documented portfolio of national corporate relationships, including corporate foundations, event sponsorships, and cause-related marketing.
  • Prior success in roles with clear and concrete goals and a track record of meeting goals. Experience in setting goals for their own progress.
  • Experienced in developing sales pitches, presentations, and demonstrations. 
  • Ability to think creatively about identifying opportunities, growing relationships, and increasing revenue.
  • Experienced people manager with proven success in training, leading, coaching, developing, and managing the performance of direct reports.
  • Recognized success in creating relationships with cross-functional teams from varying levels, working closely with colleagues to brainstorm ideas, discuss pros/cons, and develop ways forward.
  • Proven skill in distilling complex information into compelling, easily digestible narratives; presenting information in an inspiring and persuasive way.
  • Proven ability to listen and respond to develop mutual understanding and trust. 
  • Experienced in fostering an environment where different opinions and approaches can be entertained, considered, and appreciated while working as a team to find a resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience in making data-based decisions. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to outstanding internal and external service to colleagues, the individuals we serve, our donors, and those with whom we collaborate and communicate.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven to 10 years of experience in partnership fundraising, sales, business development, and/or strategic partnerships, including complex national non-profit/for-profit partnerships generating $500K+. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten years or more of experience in nonprofit/for-profit industry in partnership fundraising, sales, or business development. 
  • Masters Degree in Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and work experience. 

Physical Requirements

  • Constant use of a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as computer printer, calculator, and copier. 
  • Prolonged periods of a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
  • The ability to recognize details at close range for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

This role will report directly to the Chief Development Officer and will work closely with the Development team to support ZERO’s mission to end prostate cancer. 

This position is based remotely and candidates may live in any area within the United States. This position will require nationwide travel approximately 25% of the time.
