Assistant, Events
ZERO Prostate Cancer
Young woman with long hair standing next to a brick wall, Caroline McDonald

Currently living in Seattle, Caroline has been a vital part of ZERO for the past couple years. Her career at ZERO began in 2021 as a Temp on the Development Team before moving over to the Events team and her current role as Assistant, Events. She brings experience from her days as a Penn State THON and Four Diamonds Foundation student volunteer. THON is a year-long fundraising effort for kids battling pediatric cancer at Hershey Children’s Hospital that culminates into a 46 hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon in February.

She attended undergrad at Penn State where she studied Global and International Studies with a concentration in human rights and a minor in philosophy. At American University, she earned her master’s degree in Ethics, Peace, and Human Rights with a concentration in peace and conflict resolution.

Caroline feels passionate about ZERO’s mission because everyone has a connection to cancer. By curing even just one type of cancer, it would alleviate the pain of thousands of families and provide breakthrough treatments for other types of diseases.

When she’s not doing amazing work for ZERO, Caroline likes to ski, read, hike and travel. She’s been to 26 states and 7 countries so far! Out of all the places she’s been, downstate NY has the best bagels and pizza in her 100% unbiased (and correct) opinion as a native New Yorker. On Saturdays in the fall, Caroline can be found cheering for the Penn State Football Team (WE ARE).
