ZERO Prostate Cancer
Sam Detrick, Director, Southeast Chapter

Sam Detrick is our amazing Southeast Chapter Director! Sam has an impressive resume with his previous roles as the Alzheimer’s Association Walk Manager and the American Cancer Society Development Manager to name a few.

In his own words, ZERO’s tireless dedication to helping those impacted by prostate cancer is both inspiring and contagious. This position allows him to continue to serve others and bring hope to those who need it most. Sam has personal experience with ZERO’s mission; his dad had prostate cancer. After witnessing his dad’s battle, he became a fierce advocate for prevention and early detection. He’s incredibly happy that his dad won his battle against prostate cancer and it has fueled his passion for helping families deal with the often stressful process. Sam is committed to strengthening ZERO’s presence in community events by cultivating relationships with current and new sponsors as well as building meaningful relationships with new donors, fundraisers, patients, and their families.

Sam spends his spare time golfing, spending a night in with friends for a game night or movie night, and watching sports. When he gets the chance, he loves to travel. He is also very active with Life.Church ministries. Never one to back down from a challenge, he believes in turning passion into action.

“If you feel like there’s something out there that you’re supposed to be doing, if you have a passion for it, then stop wishing and just do it.”
