Meet Paula L. Bazemore, ZERO’s Events Manager hailing from Hampton, Virginia. After earning a bachelor’s degree from Hampton University, Paula started her vibrant career in nonprofits. Her past experiences include acting as an Income Manager at the American Cancer Society, a Regional Director at the National Kidney Foundation, and the Hampton Roads Program Manager at the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities. She maintained and created relationships with key constituents throughout Hampton Roads and served as the link between the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities and community partners through designing, facilitating, convening, and consulting on diversity and inclusion programs.

In her current role at ZERO, Paula leverages her extensive experience to spearhead cross-team collaboration and oversee ZERO’s numerous events from our annual Summit and Bold for Blue Awards to support group leader trainings and educational symposiums.

Paula's personal commitment to ZERO is deeply rooted in the effect prostate cancer and other forms of cancer had on her friends and family. Her husband is a prostate cancer “thriver” as she likes to put it. To prostate cancer, she says “ Enough already!”

When Paula isn’t preparing for an event, she enjoys reading, tending to her houseplants and spending time in nature. She also spends quality time with her husband and two children. An avid actor, she lends her voice to the world of live theater, providing audio description to enhance accessibility for people with low-vision or blindness.
