Position Summary

ZERO is seeking a skilled Raiser’s Edge/NXT database professional to be an integral member of the Fundraising & Development Team. This position can be performed remotely from a home office and reports to the Chief Development Officer supporting the overall fundraising and data management efforts of the organization. 

The ideal candidate should grasp how data supports donor and fundraiser relationships, value data collection best practices, and communicate effectively to optimize Raiser’s Edge usage. Familiarity with Luminate Online by Blackbaud is a plus, and training is available if needed.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an integral member of the Fundraising & Development Team to strategically advance ZERO’s fundraising efforts through the effective use and maintenance of the database. 
  • Perform and/or manage daily gift entry and acknowledgment letter processes. 
  • Ensure that data is captured and recorded in a timely manner and aligns with data management best practices. 
  • Ensure the accurate flow and capture of data from Luminate Online to Raiser's Edge and NXT.
  • Generate reports for various projects, including direct mail appeals and donor segmentation, revenue reports, dashboard metric reports
  • Familiarity with wealth screen tools, specifically iWave and development of prospect screen to build out portfolios
  • Use quantitative analysis tools to assemble, analyze, and draw conclusions from data to direct the development team toward the strongest giving targets. 
  • Lead the ZERO staff in fully utilizing Raiser’s Edge/NXT by providing database training and support both informally and formally, including designing development queries and staff fundraiser dashboards. 
  • Document and maintain procedures, workflows, processes, and complex functions.
  • Stay at the forefront of best practices and procedures for database management and development services. 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of experience managing Raiser’s Edge, NXT, and Luminate Online fundraising databases.
  • Proficiency in donor database software such as Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge, NXT, and Luminate Online, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/G-Suite applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and work 
  • Ten or more years of experience working in non-profit donor operations and management

Personal Characteristics Desired

  • Understanding of data's role in donor and fundraiser relationships
  • Proficiency in data collection best practices
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teammates
  • Ability to maximize Raiser’s Edge and its tools
  • Familiarity with Blackbaud's Luminate Online is advantageous
  • Willingness to undergo training for Luminate Online if required

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across teams/departments.

Physical Requirements

  • Constant use of a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as computer printer, calculator, and copier. 
  • Prolonged periods of a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
  • The ability to recognize details at close range for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

This position is based remotely, and candidates may live in any area within the United States. This role may require nationwide travel approximately 10% of the time.
