Community Grants

For decades, ZERO has directly funded education, patient support, early detection, research, and helping providers purchase new technology to increase the quality of care they can provide. The fundraising participants do for the ZERO Run/Walk is one major source of these funds for local communities.

Group of people holding a massive check

Since 1996, ZERO has made a significant impact in the fight against prostate cancer both nationally and locally. Partnering with our medical partners, we’ve spearheaded efforts to fund free screenings, hands-on care, research, and education to support and strengthen prostate cancer patients and families in their communities.

An integral part of the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk series is the community grant program. This program assists in funding dozens of local nonprofit organizations that are dedicated to helping prostate cancer patients and their families in their local areas. A percentage of the funds raised through ZERO’s Run/Walks goes directly back into communities across the country.

Examples of the direct impact our community grants are having

Screening

More than 200 screening events at 21 African American churches and outreach organizations and 10,000+ free PSA screenings for Black men.

New technology

Funding to help bring a cutting-edge Calypso 4D Localization System, a radiation technology that cuts treatment time in half and has fewer side effects, to the Martin O’Neil Cancer Center at St. Helena Hospital in Napa Valley.

Clinical research

More than $2.5M dedicated to prostate cancer research to support innovative treatments and diagnostics.

Since inception, ZERO has granted more than $5M to regional groups providing hands-on care, free screenings, research, and education. Through our grant program, ZERO is extending the reach of our patient support programs and educational resources to meet prostate cancer patients, their families, and at-risk individuals where they live. We are proud to partner with impactful organizations across the country that share our mission to end prostate cancer and are positively changing lives.

Below are the current organizations benefiting from a ZERO grant to help men and families in their communities.
