Washington, D.C. (December 14, 2018) – ZERO Prostate Cancer is honored to add Brad D. Lerner, M.D., F.A.C.S to its Board of Directors. Dr. Lerner is the President of Chesapeake Urology Associates (CUA), Clinical Director of Summit Ambulatory Surgical Centers and Urologic Consultant to the NFL Baltimore Ravens. With more than three decades of experience in the urology field, he’s a passionate advocate of prostate cancer research and is dedicated to helping men and their families fight this disease.

“Dr. Lerner is a founding partner at Chesapeake Urology Associates and his commitment to excellence has helped drive the practice to set the standard of care for prostate cancer patients and he continues to inspire doctors around the country to be their best,” said ZERO CEO Jamie Bearse. “His expertise and insights from the frontlines of patient care will help drive ZERO’s mission to improve the lives of the patients and families we serve.”

Dr. Lerner’s appointment to ZERO’s Board continues an ongoing partnership with CUA who hosts the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk in Baltimore, the largest and highest grossing race in the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk series. The partnership began more than a decade ago under the leadership of Dr. Sandy Siegel, formerly with CUA who founded the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk Series and served previously on ZERO’s Board of Directors.

When Dr. Siegel was diagnosed with prostate cancer earlier this year, he received an outpouring of support from the Baltimore community and across the nation. To honor Dr. Siegel’s tireless dedication to helping patients, advancing treatments, and providing local free screenings, Dr. Lerner and his CUA colleagues renamed the Baltimore race as the Dr. Sanford J. Siegel Prostate Cancer Run/Walk.

Dr. Lerner has mentored many young physicians and has been selected a “Top Doctor” by his peers both Baltimore Magazine and the Washington Post Magazine on numerous occasions. In addition, he was previously chosen as a national “Physician Leader in the ASC Industry” by Becker’s ASC Review. He’s also been honored by Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley for his outstanding service to the Baltimore community.

ZERO’s Board of Directors also includes Robert Ginyard, Dr. Alicia Morgans, Col. Paul Taylor, Sherry Galloway, R.N., Leo Giambarresi, Ph.D., Jonathan D. Schwartz, Cheryl Nikituk, Tom Hulsey, Ed Lomasney, Dr. Kelvin Moses, and Thomas Bognanno.
