If You’re a Black Man, You’re Twice as Likely to Die from Prostate Cancer

 

Prostate cancer is, aside from skin cancer, the most common cancer diagnosed in American men. Hundreds of thousands of men are diagnosed with the disease every year, and statistically about 1 out of every 41 men will eventually die of prostate cancer. For African-American men, however, the rates are much higher, with 158.3 new diagnoses per 100,000 men. In fact, African-American men are twice as likely to die from the disease as white men.
