Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in US men, with an estimated 161,360 new cases and 26,730 deaths projected for 2017. Nationally, epidemiological trends published by the American Cancer Society demonstrate that the incidence of prostate cancer has been decreasing since the mid-2000s following a decade of relative stability: from 176 per 100,000 men in 2007 to 112 per 100,000 men in 2013.
