Leading National Prostate Cancer Nonprofit Awarded Four-Star Rating from Charity Navigator for Eighth Year

As the Giving Season begins, ZERO is recognized for award criteria including Impact & Results, Accountability & Finance, Culture & Community, and Leadership & Adaptability

Washington, D.C., November 28, 2022— ZERO- The End of Prostate Cancer is proud to have been awarded a four-star rating from Charity Navigator, the nation’s largest and most utilized independent nonprofit evaluator. This year’s recognition marks the eighth year overall in the past ten years that ZERO has been awarded a four-star rating. In addition to receiving a four-star rating, ZERO earned a number score of 97 out of 100. This award comes just as the annual Giving Season begins, showcasing ZERO’s exceptional role as outstanding stewards of fundraising dollars in an effort to advance research, provide support, and create solutions to achieve health equity to meet the most critical needs of the prostate cancer community.

“It is an honor to have earned Charity Navigator’s top rating and to be part of an elite group of charities who set the standards for others for eight years,” said Jamie Bearse, President and CEO of ZERO. “Our team is dedicated to ensuring financial accountability and transparency so that our donors and supporters know that every dollar advances the fight against prostate cancer.”

Since 2001, Charity Navigator has been an unbiased and trusted source of information for more than 11 million donors annually. Charity Navigator recognizes the exceptional work of an organization’s staff toward accountability, transparency, adapting to constituent feedback, growing programs, and being outstanding stewards of fundraising dollars. According to Charity Navigator, four-star ratings are an “exceptional” rating that reflects the organization’s ability to “exceed industry standards and outperform most charities in its Cause.” This rating designates ZERO as an official “Give with Confidence” charity, indicating that our organization uses its donations effectively based on Charity Navigator’s criteria.

“We are delighted to provide ZERO – The End of Prostate Cancer with third-party accreditation that validates their operational excellence,” said Michael Thatcher, President and CEO of Charity Navigator. “The Four-Star Rating is the highest possible rating an organization can achieve. We are eager to see the good work that ZERO is able to accomplish in the years ahead.”
