
A new study at Duke University shows that for patients with low- to intermediate-risk prostate cancer, their preferences did not “discernibly influence” the treatment they received. According to the study, “Instead, their urologists’ recommendation was the primary determinant of their treatment decisions.” Men, be sure to talk with your doctor to express your goals and what is most important to you in the treatment of your prostate cancer. It’s important to be your own advocate!
