After a brief stint in the fashion industry, Vanessa decided to dedicate her career to helping those in need. She made the leap to nonprofits in 2004, and she’s spent the decade since working on causes ranging from children’s charities to HIV/AIDS to lung disease and cancer. In June 2016, she found ZERO and turned her attention to prostate cancer. With endless enthusiasm and boundless dedication, Vanessa is helping to make the disease a national priority – in California and beyond.
Vanessa learns all she can about the people around her, which is what makes her the perfect fit to lead the charge on the West Coast. When she’s not cultivating lasting relationships in the community, she can be found in her garden or working with her hands on a DIY project. She has an equal love of wine and traveling – especially when it’s to countries with good wine! In 2017 Vanessa was nominated for a Humanitarian Award by Leroy, a prostate cancer survivor & ZERO champion! She was given the award by the South Bay Consistory No. 314 at their Founder’s Day banquet.
