Shauna is a true Texan. She makes a mean piecrust, never shies away from a cold beer, and dedicates her days to spreading prostate cancer awareness in the Lone Star State, one city and one lead at a time.
From her very first internship until she signed on as ZERO’s Texas Chapter Director in May 2015, Shauna’s worked in the nonprofit sector, including roles at the American Heart Association and Autism Speaks. Finding ZERO allowed her to marry her passion for helping others with her unwavering dedication to her family – her grandfather is a prostate cancer survivor, and with four brothers and a husband, she relished the opportunity to begin a chapter in her home state, aimed at saving Texan men from the disease.
Shauna has a growing family, but that doesn’t mean she can’t enjoy regular weekend tex-mex brunch – a chef at heart, if you ask, she’ll probably cook you a full spread. When she’s not spending hours connecting with communities in her home state, you can find Shauna taking a walk with her husband and their two daughters. If you live in Texas and want to get involved, or just need the perfect brunch recommendation, drop her a line here.
