As a former Walt Disney World cast member, Kate tries to bring a little bit of magic and pixie dust with her wherever she goes. She is thrilled by the opportunity to use her magic as a member of the ZERO team to support, grow, and create impactful programs and enlightening education for the ZERO community and beyond!
Driven by the cancer journeys of her family members and her mission to make a positive impact on people’s quality of life, Kate has always been determined to pursue a career path where she could be a source of support for others. She began her career at the American Cancer Society where she coordinated the volunteer transportation program as well as shared screening recommendations, diagnosis information, and much needed resources with patients and their families. Following that, she informed the aging population in and around Austin, TX by teaching and organizing disease self-management education programs as the Health and Wellness Coordinator for the Area Agency on Aging of the Capital Area. Most recently, she held the role of Senior Program Manager at the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
Through her experience Kate has developed a passion for letting people know what resources exist to help them, working to develop programs where needs are unmet, and empowering individuals through education. Kate’s goal is to spread the word far and wide so that no one will feel alone in their fight or say, “I wish I would have known about that program when my family and I needed it the most.”
When she’s not working Kate enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles, watching a beautiful sunset, and roasting s’mores. If you’d like to talk about ZERO’s programs or discuss your favorite Disney movie, please contact Kate at firstname.lastname@example.org.
