Jamarlo has seven years of experience working in the TV news industry, which comes in handy for his role as ZERO’s digital media expert. Based on his previous role as a TV news reporter, Jamarlo creates dynamic content including compelling interviews and brand-building partnerships, and captures memorable moments on camera. Recognized for his work locally and nationally, Jamarlo deepens ZERO’s media bench on the Marketing and Communications team.
Jamarlo came to ZERO because his passion aligned with ZERO’s mission to end prostate cancer. Having three family members diagnosed with prostate cancer, Jamarlo knows personally the importance of increasing awareness and screenings for prostate cancer within the African-American community. Jamarlo is looking to continue to elevate the voices of prostate cancer patients, caregivers, and others who have been impacted by this disease and make meaningful connections. He is the liaison for relationship building with journalists, social media influencers, and partners.
As a native of Alabama, Jamarlo earned his B.A. in Broadcast Journalism/Communications from Troy University and he is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Jamarlo enjoys music, food, art, photography, videography, nature, traveling, and spending time with family, friends, and his Boston Terrier/Shitz-Zhu mix, Jeff.
