Marketing & Communications Internship – Remote

ZERO – The End of Prostate Cancer is a local non-profit organization dedicated to ending prostate cancer. Our mission is to save lives and stop pain and suffering by advancing research, encouraging action, and providing education and support to prostate cancer patients and their families.

ZERO is currently seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to assist our Marketing & Communications Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation and scheduling of social media content under the direction of the Social Media Manager
  • Assist in creation of digital and social media event marketing materials for upcoming events
  • Assist in the production of of podcasts and webinars
  • Assist in coordination of guest writers, editing, and publishing blogs
  • Assist with minor website updates as needed
  • Support the Digital Media Coordinator with public relations and media outreach by coordinating calendar listings, pulling media lists, and drafting pitches
  • Researching potential opportunities with media sponsors and partnerships
  • Coordinating photo library
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a degree-seeking program focused on marketing, communications, or public relations preferred
  • Professional demeanor
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Enthusiastic,energetic, and self-motivated with a good sense of humor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented organization
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and Sprout Social a plus.
  • Strong computer skills and a quick learner of new technology
  • Strong interpersonal skills and judgment
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback in a professional manner throughout internship
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends
  • Interest in learning about and sharing in our mission

Part-time internships are available between the hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (EST), Monday through Friday. With communication, start and end days of internship are flexible. Intern must have a computer and reliable internet.
