Fundraising Assistant

ZERO is seeking a detail-oriented, outgoing events professional with a strong background of customer service to serve as our new Fundraising Assistant.
The ideal candidate will work to support field staff and our event participants to successfully meet the organization’s event revenue goals. Candidates should be comfortable working with remote employees, work quickly and efficiently, and demonstrate consistent professionalism with their coworkers, participants, and organization volunteers. This position reports to the National Director of Peer to Peer Fundraising.

The Fundraising Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with National Director on data reporting tasks
  • Perform initial outreach to event participants, coaching them to fundraise utilizing the various resources provided
  • Manage placement of event calendar listings
  • Manage event incentive mailings for Run/Walk, Endurance, and Grow & Give participants
  • Create and manage Endurance Team Facebook groups
  • Answer phone calls and emails from Run/Walk race participants
  • Administer team captain mailings for entire series
  • Solicit in-kind product and donations as needed
  • Provide administrative support to the Events Team including TeamRaiser donation management, participant record upkeep, website edits, and other general administrative tasks


  • College degree from accredited institution
  • Minimum of 1-2 years nonprofit or event management experience
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Must have excellent communications skills, especially by phone and email

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with peer-to-peer fundraising events, specifically walks, runs, and endurance events
  • Experience utilizing the Blackbaud suite of programs including Luminate, TeamRaiser, and Raiser’s Edge
