Lauren Taylor

Four years ago, Lauren’s father, Col. Paul Taylor, was diagnosed with Stage IV prostate cancer at the young age of 41.

The disease has been adjustment for her family. Prostate cancer – with all the checkups, treatments, and doctors – is now a major part of their routine. Lauren and her family know that dealing with prostate cancer involves the whole family. They do everything – the routine, medications, and side effects – as a team. Even the side effects no longer faze them; they’d rather have Paul at home and healthy. They know that complications could happen, but as a family they try not to focus on that.

I feel like we inspire him, because we’ve stayed close as a family, but he inspires me.

Col. Taylor says that his children inspire him to get through his battle with the disease. But Lauren gives the credit right back to her dad; cancer is hard, but you can get through it together. Read more on her father’s perspective here.
